Flexible Schedules
This course provides the basic training required to perform as an unarmed security officer or guard in the security industry. The Unarmed Security Officer class takes 20 hours to complete and is taught over a two-day period. The certificate enables graduates to apply for a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois D
This course provides the basic training required to perform as an unarmed security officer or guard in the security industry. The Unarmed Security Officer class takes 20 hours to complete and is taught over a two-day period. The certificate enables graduates to apply for a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois Department of Finance and Professional Regulations (IDFPR).
123 Training Center is certified by the State of Illinois as a provider of unarmed security training in Chicago. The course meets the requirements of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation as outlined in the Detective Act. Our trainers include former law enforcement officers, with experience at the federal level. The customized training that we offer equals what you’ll find at the largest national and international firms.
20-Hour Unarmed Security Training covers all requirements necessary to work as a security guard in Illinois, including:
Introduction to Security
Criminal–Civil Law
Introduction to Patrolling
Report Writing

Requirements for 123 Training Centier Unarmed Security Course
In addition to a strong work ethic and good work record, all candidates must meet these minimum requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship or valid Green Card
- Live Scan fingerprints
- PERC card
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Drug screening and background check
- Strong communication skills, including spoken and written English
- Good personal grooming habits
- Have reliable transportation
- Honest and dependable
Student Learning Outcomes Course
This course will prepare students to meet the entry-level job requirements of an unarmed security officer. Students will receive training that includes the latest developments in the security field. Ultimately, students will be more marketable as they enter the security industry and begin their job search.
